What's new this month - Wotif joins TXNZ

27/10/2011

The Rugby's over (Yeeha, we won!), summer's not too far away and all of us in the tourism industry are looking forward to the busy season. We hope your businesses enjoyed (and are still enjoying) a good influx from Rugby visitors.

Here at the Tourism Exchange we are always working on new opportunities to improve business for everyone connected to the Exchange. One major project this year is our integration with Wotif and we are happy to announce this is now complete and TXNZ businesses will be able to connect next week!

There are a few simple steps involved in getting setup and we will be in touch next week explaining exactly what you have to do but get ready because Wotif is a bookings powerhouse - pumping through over 250,000 bookings and 5 million visitors to their site each month to connected properties.

We also recently added Go New Zealand (owners of the great domain (www.newzealand.com.au) as a TXNZ distributor. Many of you in the trade will remember Go New Zealand, one of the major Australian wholesalers from years back, this is their new online site.

You can connect to these distributors at the click of a button, if you need any assistance with this feel free to call Customer Service on 0800 99 33 99.

TXNZ Online Marketing Tips:

Everything we do at TXNZ is with one ultimate goal in mind, to get online bookings for your tourism business. There are a lot of tricks to help all of us do this better and over the years we have built up some great resources to help tourism businesses with their online marketing. In our monthly updates we would like to share one of these with you, starting here:

TXNZ Online Sales Tip #1:

Have your "Book Now" button very visible on each page. When visitors are on your site, the ultimate goal we are looking for is for them to make a booking so make it easy for them when they are ready.
A couple of practical tips:
•    Place your "Book Now" button in a prominent place on your page
•    Make your button a colour that matches your theme but is eye catching
•    Have your button in the same plaCe on every page on your site
•    Remember, your "Book Now" button is a live link you can use anywhere on the internet, how about putting it at the end of a YouTube Video?
We will keep these tips coming and hope you will find them useful.
Any feedback is welcome!
