Tourism Exchange Feb - Meet the Team & Big Rock Canyons making waves

Hello to everyone and we hope you are all enjoying a good season. It's the time of year where we are all thinking 'wow, it's March already, wasn't it just Christmas!' Although this year seems to be a bit up and down, this time of year is often the most settled weather so we hope that is encouraging both locals and overseas visitors out on the road and visiting your tourism business.

New feature for frontdesk users - Recieve SMS Notifications for your online bookings.

Would you like to recieve a text message to your mobile phone when you recieve an online booking? Now you can as this functionality has just been made available to all frontdesk users, To activate this new feature please log into frontdesk and go into 'Manage', then click on 'Account Settings' then 'SMS Notification' complete the form and follow the steps outlined in the Terms & Conditions.

Introducing more of the TXNZ team

Over the next few months we would like to introduce a few more members of our team and explain what they are doing behind the scenes for your business:

Jessica Pereira - Online Distribution Executive

At TXNZ, Jessica's role is to help boost your transactional values by providing you with a professional 'Book Now' button that complements your website to help with branding and improve your 'look to book' conversion.
Jessica is also responsible for conducting a 'Bookability Check' of all Product Providers on the exchange. This check is carried out every six months to ensure that you have the correct set-up to capitalize on everything that the Tourism Exchange has to offer and reap the most benefits for your business.


Tamara Diaz- Online Distribution Executive

At TXNZ, Tamara's role is to help boost your transactional values by increasing the number of Distributor that sell your products. Tamara is also responsible for the weekly and monthly management of our distribution channels. She will look at all suppliers who have opted into a Distributor and then check with them that you are displayed correctly. Every 6 months Tamara checks all Distributors to make sure the channels are being kept up to date and selling. When this happens she checks every single supplier who is opted into a distribution channel and makes sure all the providers are sellable, if she comes across any errors she will contact you or the Distributor and make sure they are fixed.

Online Tip of the Month

I always like to keep an eye on businesses that have just connected to TXNZ to see how they are getting on and recently I have found a brand new company doing some amazing things down in Canterbury. Bigrock Canyons signed up with us late last year and since then have launched a brand new website and canyon tour business.

                                    



The lesson I have learned from them was what they are doing with their Facebook page. Now everyone knows that visitors love to get photos of outdoor trips like rafting, jet boating and canyoning. The norm is to sell these photos, usually at a premium price. What Bigrock are doing is making an awesome video of each trip, posting it to their Facebook page and people can view it for free by liking the page. The target market for this kind of trip include backpacker buses, these young travellers love updating their Facebook page with the latest adventure activity and they are all connected with each other. I couldn't think of a better way to get exposure for a new activity like this. Grant from Bigrock summed it up when he said they felt the exposure they were getting from this is worth more than selling the video.


Bigrock are a brand new company in their first season and I thought what they are doing is fantastic and best of all; they have been getting regular online bookings. Well done Grant & Koryn.
