Privacy Policy

Tourism Exchange Member Privacy Policy  

The following describes what information we gather from Members, how we use it, and how to correct or change it.  This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the Tourism Exchange Market Rules.

1. Use of your information

1.1. We collect various information from Users of the Tourism Exchange including:

a) Information through click tracking in relation to your use of the Tourism Exchange;

b) Aggregated data which monitors traffic to the Tourism Exchange and cookies (which are small pieces of information stored in a browser-related file on your computer's hard drive when you use the Tourism Exchange);

c) Personal information gathered through the registration process or the process of completing a transaction on the Tourism Exchange; and

d) Personal information provided to us from you through any other method, including all correspondence with us.

1.2. Any information we gather from you of the kind under paragraphs 1.1 (a) and 1.1 (b) does not personally identify you and may be used:

a) To do internal research on your demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand and serve you and other Tourism Exchange Users;

b) To provide information about the Tourism Exchange to our related companies (“Affiliates”) or third parties; and

c) For any other use that you may authorise.

1.3. Personal information that you provide to us of the kind under paragraphs 1.1 (c) and 1.1 (d) will be used:

a) As verification of your identity for use on the Tourism Exchange including logging on as a Member;

b) To contact you when we consider necessary in relation to your Membership and/or transactions on the Tourism Exchange; or

c) To send you information and promotional materials about us, third parties and our Affiliates where you agree.

1.4. We may disclose:

a) Any and all information that we collect from you when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law, enforce or apply the Market Rules, or protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others or to satisfy legal processes or governmental requests; and

b) Aggregated tracking information that does not personally identify you, to third parties such as advertisers on the Tourism Exchange.

2. Holding, Correcting and Updating Information

Information that we collect from you of the kind under paragraphs 1.1 (a) and 1.1 (b) does not personally identify you or reveal your personal information in any way.  Any information that you provide to us under paragraphs 1.1 (c) and 1.1 (d) will be held at Tourism Exchange New Zealand, 7-9 Fanshawe Street, Auckland City, New Zealand. The Privacy Act 1993 gives you access and rights of correction to your personal information that we hold.  We allow you to correct or change your personal information that you provide us under paragraphs 1.1 (c) and 1.1 (d) at any time.  If you have any questions or queries as to how this service works, please contact us.

3. Advertising and Third Party Links

3.1 Some advertisers on the Tourism Exchange may request information directly from Users, or link to other Websites.  We have no control over our advertisers' privacy policies, and encourage Users to review such policies prior to submitting any personal information to them.

3.2 The Tourism Exchange may contain non-advertising links to a variety of third party sites to enhance the Users’ experience.  We have no control of either the content or privacy policies of such sites, nor should such links be considered an endorsement of these sites except where otherwise noted.

4. Updates to our Information Practices

We may from time to time without notice make minor alterations to the Privacy Policy and will notify you of this by updating the “last updated notice” beside any link to the Privacy Policy.  We may also make substantial amendments to the Privacy Policy by notifying you of such change by email or otherwise.  By continuing to access and use the Tourism Exchange you agree to be bound by the amended Privacy Policy.

Tourism Exchange Website General User Privacy Policy

The following describes what information we gather, how we use it, and how to correct or change it.  This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the Tourism Exchange Website General Terms and Conditions.

We may at any time change or modify this Privacy Policy and will notify you of the change by updating the “last updated” notice beside the link to this Policy.  By continuing to access and use the Website you agree to be bound by the amended Privacy Policy.

1. Interpretation

“Information” means any aggregated or anonymous information about you that we collect which does not identify you personally.

“User” means any user of the Website.

“Personal Information” means any personal information about you that we collect including, but not limited to, your name, contact email address and contact telephone number.

“we”, “us” and “our” refer to Tourism Exchange New Zealand Limited.

“you” and “your” refer to you, as a User of the Website.

2. Collection of Information

We collect Information about Users of the Website, including:

a) Personal Information provided voluntarily when requesting online communication;

b) Information derived from cookies as further described in clause 3 below;

c) Other click-tracking Information in relation to your use of the Website, including the content you access; and

d) Other Information which tracks traffic to and from the Website.

3. Cookies

3.1 A cookie is a small text file transferred to your computer hard drive in order to recognise your computer.  The cookie file is anonymous as it only gives Information relating to your IP address, PC platform, browser and domain.

3.2 You may configure your browser not to accept cookies but you may experience a loss of functionality as a result.

4. Use and disclosure of Information

4.1 We use the Personal Information that we collect to process any communication you request and all other Information we collect to:

a) Assist in providing better services to you by tailoring the Website to meet your needs; and

b) Keep the Website relevant and of interest to Users.

4.2 We may disclose the Personal Information that we collect to our trusted business partners and affiliates or any other person we consider necessary to process any communication you request and Information (other than Personal Information) to third parties such as our advertisers.

5. Access and correction

Personal Information that you provide us with will be held by us at Tourism Exchange, 7-9 Fanshawe St, Auckland City, New Zealand.  In accordance with the Privacy Act 1993 you have rights to access and correction of Personal Information that we hold about you.  Please contact us if you have any questions in relation to this.
